Zara Metin

By combining spatial investigations and sensitive documentation, young architect Zara Metin explores the French state’s neocolonial management of the banlieues. She looks at the destruction of homes without consent, the refusal to allow these populations to exist in public spaces, and the informal consequences of these acts. She also links this local violence to the architectural and colonial violence suffered by Palestinians in Gaza in her work in progress, “The Extimacy of Genocide.”
