Yvonne Adhiambo Owuor was born in Nairobi, Kenya. Her fragmented, poetic, and emotionally charged style continued with her highly acclaimed debut novel, Dust (2014). Her novel, The Dragonfly Sea (2018) is probably the first from the Continent to imaginatively explore what the implication of China’s return to a close relationship with Africa might mean for the personal and intimate lives of the seemingly marginal people. In addition to her literary profession Yvonne is deeply involved with the environmental and conservation sector, as an author, artist and behind-the-scenes activist and lobbyist with selected custodians.
