Q Yi

Yin Q (b.1974) is a writer, artist, curator and core organizer with Red Canary Song and founding member of Kink Out. Q’s writing has been published in BUST, Apogee Journal (Columbia University), The Point Magazine (Oct 2020), We Too, Stories of Sex Work and Survival (The Feminist Press at CUNY, 2021), and Afro Asia (Duke University Press, 2008). Their media work includes “Mercy, Mistress,” (Vimeo, EP Margaret Cho), “Fly In Power,” a documentary for Red Canary Song, and a Youtube short, “Yang Song, Fly in Power.” Their art practice has been included at MOMA PS1, Brown University Artist in Residence, Storefront Gallery for Art and Architecture, Leslie Lohman Museum, Performance Space NY, and Abrons Art Center. Q is currently writing a memoir on violence and transformation.
