Victoria Furtado is a feminist activist and researcher from Montevideo. She has a degree in Linguistics and a Master’s degree in Human Sciences. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Latin American, Iberian, and Latino Cultures at the City University of New York. Her research focuses on the relationship between language and political action in social movements in Uruguay and Latin America, especially in the contemporary Uruguayan feminist movement. She is a member of the communication collective Zur (www.zur.uy).
