
Tábita Hünemeier is Professor at the Department of Genetics and Evolutionary Biology at the University of São Paulo (USP), Brazil. She graduated in Genetics and Molecular Biology at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) with double titulation at the University College of London. She did two postdoctoral studies at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul. Her expertise is in Molecular Genetics, with emphasis on Human Populations and Primate Evolution. Currently, her research is focused on Native American Genome Diversity, Diversity and Evolution of Latin America, and on the Genetics of the Rapid Craniofacial Phenotypic Evolution of the Xavántes Indians of Central Brazil.
