Susana Durão’s research focuses on international police cooperation in Lusophone countries as well as on patrol and community policing with particular emphasis on the everyday-life of police bureaucracies. She is the author of three books, Patrol and Proximity: An Ethnography of Police in Lisbon; Police, Security and Public Order: Portuguese and Brazilian Perspectives and Police Station. She teaches social anthropology at the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP, São Paulo).
