Stephanie Briers

Stephanie Briers is a southern urbanist, transdisciplinary, and action researcher with a background in architecture. She is based at the Transdisciplinarity Lab at ETH and is part of a Swiss energy transition project, where her role is to enrich a community of researchers working on integrating social science and humanities in the energy transition. Her action-research PhD at ETH Zurich’s Institute of Landscape and Urbanism, has been published as a book titled Infrastructures of Freedom: Public Light and Everynight Life on a Southern City’s Margins, and she runs a community of practice called LightUp advocating for public lighting equality in South Africa.
