Ruperta Bautista Vázquez

Ruperta Bautista Vázquez is a popular educator, poet, anthropologist, translator, playwright, and actress Maya Tsotsil. She was born in San Cristobal de Las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico. She received a diploma in Literary Creation from the General Society of Writers of Mexico (SOGEM) and a diploma in Indigenous Rights and Culture by CIESAS-Southeast. She is also an anthropologist from the Autonomous University of Chiapas where she teaches Education and Cultural Diversity.
