Rooha Haghar

When Rooha Haghar was 11 years old, her family, fleeing religious persecution in Iran, boarded a train and left everything behind. Now a freshman at the University of Texas at Austin, Rooha is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Global Studies. An activist, artist, and photographer, Rooha was instrumental in seeing Dallas’ #EducationIsNotACrime public mural become a reality. Her valedictorian speech has been watched by millions across the globe.
