Mpho Matheolane

Mpho Matheolane is a photographer, art historian and art history lecturer currently pursuing a PhD: History of Art (with practice) at Wits University in Johannesburg, South Africa. Matheolane’s work and practice draws from his research around spatial politics, land, law and landscape from his MA which focused on the postcolonial African city, movement and absence to the current PhD which carries the same themes albeit with specific emphasis on land and its meaning to indigenous people and their customs.
