Mohammed Al Hawajri is a Palestinian artist whose practice addresses the realities of war, political unrest, and everyday life in Gaza. Using video, photography, design, and installations, he reflects on the conditions faced by those living in the Gaza Strip, combining elements of sarcasm and stark reality to highlight socio-political issues. Al Hawajri employs unconventional materials such as household spices and animal bones, offering new dimensions to his work.
He is a founding member of the Eltiqa Group for Contemporary Art in Gaza (2002) and established the Red Crescent Society Fine Art Program to support artistic growth in the region. Active since the late 1990s, Al Hawajri has participated in international exhibitions and residencies, including Documenta 15.
