Melanie West

Melanie West is a PhD student at the University of California, San Diego in the Department of Ethnic Studies. Her research is dedicated to revealing how Black speculative fiction has the power to be a political tool for building more just and ethical worlds in the present and the future. In her spare time, she loves to illustrate the alternate worlds she believes are possible or jog while dreaming of more possibilities.
