María Vignau

María is a researcher in sociology and demography. She studies international migration and immigration enforcement, racial and ethnic stratification in the United States and Mexico, and health inequalities among migrant populations.

María has taught sociology and statistics classes in the United States and Mexico, and she serves on the editorial team of the journal “Demography”. She is a PhD candidate in sociology at the University of Washington and holds a BA in sociology from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).

She is excited to join the translation team of “The Funambulist” because it allows her to contribute to the sharing of experiences of resistance and struggle in different parts of the world, collectively building bridges across linguistic and territorial borders.
