Maile Arvin is a Kanaka Maoli (Native Hawaiian) feminist scholar, and an associate professor of History and Gender Studies at the University of Utah. She is also the director of Pacific Islands Studies at the University of Utah, as well as the co-host and co-producer (with Angela Robinson) of a podcast called Relations of Salt and Stars. Her first book, Possessing Polynesians: The Science of Settler Colonial Whiteness in Hawaiʻi and Oceania, was published with Duke University Press in 2019.
