Loraine Masiya Mponela is Malawian born and raised, currently living in Coventry as a refugee. She is an award-winning migrant rights campaigner. She is the author of I Was Not Born a Sad Poet, a poetry book that gives voice to asylum seekers in the UK and beyond. Loraine has a lovely son and a granddaughter.
