Kenia Almaraz Murillo is a Bolivian artist born in Santa Cruz de la Sierra in 1994. She grew up in Bolivia until she was 12, when she moved to Paris with her older sister. In parallel with her lengthy art studies, she took a course in basse lisse weaving with the artist Simone Prouvé. This craft transmission enabled her to reconnect with the ancestral, family know-how of Bolivian weaving. She is descended from a generation of weavers living along the Andes.
