Blackgoat Geraldene

Geraldene Blackgoat is Diné (Navajo) and has a strong passion for culturally appropriate design, which inspired her focus in graduate school at the University of New Mexico School of Architecture + Planning. She conducted community participatory research on Navajo ritual and ceremonial spaces in government-provided housing and received the King Medal for Excellence in Architectural & Environmental Design Research from Architectural Research Centers Consortium. Geraldene is an architectural intern in Albuquerque, NM where she’s passionate about implementing her research into different forms of architecture for Indigenous Peoples.
