Denise Ferreira da Silva is Director and Professor at the Social Justice Institute-GRSJ at the University of British Columbia. She is the author of Toward a Global Idea of Race (2007), A Dívida Impagavel (2019), and co-editor of Race, Empire, and the Crisis of the Subprime (2013). Her several articles have been published in interdisciplinary journals, such as Social Text, PhiloSOPHIA, Griffith Law Review, Theory & Event, The Black Scholar. Her art related work include the films Serpent Rain (2016) and 4Waters-Deep Implicancy (2018) (w/ Arjuna Neuman), the practices Poethical Readings and Sensing Salon (w/ Valentina Desideri), the platform EhChO.org, shows and talks at venues such as the Pompidou Center (Paris), Whitechapel Gallery (London, MASP (Sāo Paulo), Guggenheim (New York), and MoMa (New York), publications for major events (Liverpool, Sao Paulo, and Venice Biennales and Documenta 14) and venues, such as Canadian Art, Texte Zur Kunst, and E-Flux.
