Adams Chanelle

Chanelle Adams is a researcher, writer, and cultural worker interested the interconnected politics of natural resources, healing, and history. Currently, she is pursuing doctoral studies in geography at the University of Lausanne, Switzerland. Fulbright scholar, she also completed degrees at Brown University (B.A.) and the Ecole des hautes etudes en sciences sociales (M.A).

Her research-based art practice called “ghost tours” invites participants to sit with traces of colonialism and ecocide in everyday city spaces such as zoos, museums and gardens. So far, these tours have taken place in Marseille, Cape Town, Antananarivo, Hamburg, Basel, and Lausanne.

Chanelle’s essays have been published by The Drift, Adi Magazine, Bitch Media, e-flux, and the CCA. In 2022, she co-edited zine Earthly Delights with Danielle Wu. She is also a two-time contributor to the Funambulist and has been a dedicated translator to the magazine since 2018.
