Areej Ashhab

Areej Ashhab is a Palestinian architect and art researcher dedicated to cultivating community land practices and material pedagogies. She’s a co-founder of Al-Wah’at Collective, committed to countering anthropocentric and colonial narratives around hostile and arid environments through practices of care and repair. Her publications include The Fast-Growing Stinking Escaped Waste-Loving Wall-Breaching Self-Cloning Other-Than-Natural No-Man’s Tree (with Ailo Ribas, 2024), Diaries from Wadi Al-Sarar (Al-Block, 2024), “Between The Pines” (with Marta Wodz, Researching Palestine, 2024), and “Invading landscapes” (Border Environments, 2023).
