Ambre Guetin Leperlier is a French architect based in Paris. With mixed heritage from Réunion Island she investigates how coloniality shapes territories and built environments. Through Doré.es, a dance-based short film, she questioned colonial memory inscribed in Paris’s public space. Her master’s thesis focused on architectural counter-practices in Réunion with particular attention to Kaf and Malbar communities, and her diploma project imagined a space for cultivating food and constructive autonomy on the island, a response to the (neo)colonial extractive sugar economies. She is part of the curatorial team of Reclaim Architecture, What feminist and decolonial thought does to architecture.
