Aleksander Nowak is a Polish architect who finished his Master’s degree at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen at the Urbanism and Societal Change Programme with a thesis on post-war reconstruction strategies for Aleppo. The project focused on rubble recycling as a tool of urban and societal revival. The project was backed by deep socio-political research and targeted various scales ranging from city region down to 1:1 rubble wall prototype, in context of most heavily damaged informal settlements and informal reconstruction processes.
