We continue our series of publications of architecture graduate theses. Gabriel Weber’s work focuses on one specific Rio de Janeiro bus line that, every summer weekend, allows for the (mostly Black) working-class youth to escape the implacable heat and access the beach. Targeted by both moral panics and police checkpoints, this one-dimensional line reveals the four-dimensional nature of Brazilian racial and social segregation of urban spaces.
