# THE FUNAMBULIST PAMPHLETS /// Twelve First Volumes to be soon Published by Punctum Books

Published

I am happy to announce that the twelve first volumes of The Funambulist Pamphlets, a series of small books collecting articles written for the blog, will be published by Punctum Books as part of the CTM Documents Initiative series all along this summer. Such an opportunity was made possible by Eileen Joy, director of Punctum Books and Ed Keller, associate dean at Parsons The New School of Design and director of the Center for Transformative Media; I am very grateful for the trust they put in me. This series of Pamphlets has twelve volumes for now but will be able to expand in the future, it will allows a collection of article by themes as well as a reading of them in a correct(ed) English (thanks to Anna Kłosowska and Eileen Joy). Following Punctum’s manifesto for an open-access to knowledge that I could not approve more, they will be downloadable for free as PDF and purchasable in printed version on demand. The volumes will be released one by one (normally one per week) according to the following order:

– Volume 01: SPINOZA
– Volume 02: FOUCAULT
– Volume 03: DELEUZE
– Volume 04: LEGAL THEORY
– Volume 05: OCCUPY WALL STREET
– Volume 06: PALESTINE
– Volume 07: CRUEL DESIGNS
– Volume 08: ARAKAWA + MADELINE GINS
– Volume 09: SCIENCE FICTION
– Volume 10: LITERATURE
– Volume 11: CINEMA
– Volume 12: WEAPONIZED ARCHITECTURE [additional thoughts to the book]

At the end of this summer, there will be another project accomplished in close collaboration with the CTM and Punctum Books but it will be the object of another article in the near future. Until then, here is a small presentation of these two organizations:

CENTER FOR TRANSFORMATIVE MEDIA, Parsons The New School of Design: an interactive media research initiative bridging design and the social sciences, and dedicated to the exploration of the transformative potential of emerging technologies with the foundational practices of everyday life across a range of settings.

PUNCTUM BOOKS: spontaneous acts of scholarly combustion is an open-access and print-on-demand independent publisher dedicated to radically creative modes of intellectual inquiry and writing across a whimsical para-humanities assemblage. punctum books seeks to curate the open spaces of writing or writing-as-opening, the crucial tiny portals on whose capacious thresholds all writing properly and improperly takes place. Pricking, puncturing, perforating = publishing in the mode of an unconditional hospitality and friendship, making space for what Eve Sedgwick called “queer little gods” – the “ontologically intermediate and teratological figures” of y/our thought. We seek to pierce and disturb the wednesdayish, business-as-usual protocols of both the generic university studium and its individual cells or holding tanks. We also take in strays.
